Calling all young artists! This year, the Capital Pride Youth Council will be hosting an inaugural event, along with Départ, the Ottawa Art Gallery’s Youth Committee, at the Ottawa Art Gallery at 5pm on Wednesday, August 22nd. The title of the Exhibition is Come-Unify, reflecting this year’s Capital Pride Festival theme of CommUNITY.

This is an opportunity for young artists under 25 years of age in the LGBTQ2+ community to have their art shown in this beautiful, modern, public gallery in the heart of our city during Pride week!

Deadline is August 15th for all applications and submissions.

There are two different opportunities:

  • Art submission: You can submit up to five pieces for consideration, to be shown at the gallery for the duration of the event. These pieces can be of any medium. We accept video, audio and physical/visual art submissions. Artists of any experience level are encouraged to submit. Nothing is too crazy or out there! If interested, please fill out our submission form.
  • Live performance: We are looking for spoken word poets, singers, improv performers, performance artists, or anyone who dabbles in live performance! We are looking for performers to perform at the gallery between 5 – 8 pm during our event. Artists of any experience level are welcome to submit. All forms of live performance are encouraged! If interested, please fill out our submission form.

We look forward to receiving and reviewing all submissions! Thank you for your interest in the 2018 Capital Pride Festival. Happy Pride!
